Marketing & Business Development Manager

The Marketing & Business Development Manager generates quality leads for the agency through digital advertising, social media, sponsorships, website, trade shows, article writing and other activities they develop. With time and experience, the incumbent may also qualify and pitch certain types and sizes of accounts on their own. The marketing and business development manager sources RFPs, RFSOs and RFIs and manages proposal writing timeline, content and process.

Responsibilities

Agency Marketing
  • Manages Aber Group’s website and social media properties to attract quality leads, build the brand and solicit invitations to showcase Aber Group’s abilities (speaking opportunities, article writing etc.)
  • Produces physical and digital marketing collateral as needed to support lead generation and branding efforts
  • Manages HubSpot and the entire lead generation process and timelines
Business Development
  • Actively supports new business opportunities through the proposal writing process
  • Develops sales and relationship building skills within the organization
Industry Engagement
  • Ensure The Aber Group’s leadership position as a medium-sized, boutique agency in the industry
  • Enthusiastically participates in the Interactive Advertising Bureau of Canada, the Canadian Marketing Association and others

Essential Skills & Experience

Account Manager (Digital Media)


As Account Manager (Digital), you lead, manage and support the creation of digital direct response campaigns and lead a team of digital media marketers.

You’ll oversee three major groups of activities:

Client & Campaign Management

  • Planning and executing end to end digital media and search engine marketing campaigns
  • Managing day-to-day client interactions as it pertains to operations, optimizations and strategy
  • Taking ownership and management of projects from initial client briefing to final project debriefing and wrap-up
  • Being an internal advocate for the client

Agency Management

  • Being an integral part of the supervisory team and developing company culture, strategy and best practices; assuming various general management responsibilities
  • Making hiring recommendations for Interns, Account Strategist
  • Managing direct staff

Industry Advocacy

  • Proactively seeking out new information and research about digital advertising & search engine marketing techniques and sharing with team to continually improve operations and campaign results
  • Promoting and advocating for The Aber Group to the industry at large, including representing The Aber Group within various industry councils, committees, etc.
  • Achieving Google Partner level certification within the initial 6 months of employment and maintaining your certifications in good standing throughout your tenure

Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Coordinator

Account Coordinator

The Account Coordinator reports directly to the Account Strategist and/or Account Manager and acts as an internal liaison between interns and Account Strategists & Managers. The primary focus of the Account Coordinator is to execute, monitor, optimize and report on campaigns to ensure we are meeting and exceeding the goals of each campaign for our clients.

Responsibilities

The Account Coordinator will be responsible for three major groups of activities:

Ad Operations

  • Build and monitor search, social, native & programmatic campaigns
  • Communicate and coordinate media buys with vendors
  • Traffic creative & execute tagging with vendors and internal team members
  • Effectively manage campaign details to ensure plans launch on time and deliver on budget
  • Work effectively and efficiently with Google campaign management tools & ad serving software

Reporting & Optimization

  • Build and deliver accurate campaign progress & final reports, analysis & recommendations
  • Manage pacing and optimization of both self-serve and vendor placements to meet goals & KPIs
  • Communicate insights and recommendations from reports to strategists & managers

Day-to-Day Operations

  • Independently and proactively manage tasks and responsibilities from start to finish by deadlines
  • Assume responsibility for helping strategists & managers solve client problems
  • Copy writing for search, social & native ad placements
  • Research and share new information about digital advertising & SEM techniques at the direction of strategists, managers & directors

  • Have a strong quantitative background, including academic experience working with data to uncover trends, confidence in working with numbers, and proficiency in Excel and other data manipulation tools.
